A Thanksgiving Blessing

To you who have made time in your life for my writings, I am thankful for you and offer you this blessing. — John

Hand in hand and heart to heart, we gather once again.
Some old friends, Some new friends, with Grace we begin.
We thank Creator for life and lessons when we had courage or fear.
The eternal wisdom won lives in what we say and what we hear.

Endless turning seasons, each met with mindful care.
Our narratives may vary but unified goals we share.
To exceed the expectations of the generation before.
And to meet all our needs, with just a fraction more.

We honor with memory and words those who had to go.
And their ancient recipes that feed our body and our soul.
With their genetic tune, we are the echo of their song.
To it, we add our notes for Time to carry along.

With gratitude for the path behind, and hope for what lies ahead.
We are sustained by the gifts we’ve learned and the gifts we are fed.
Let the bounty that we share enrich the noble path we’re led.
To manifest blessings for all we meet and to whom we befriend.
